Project Description

Idowu Koyenikan once said that “the mind is just like a muscle – the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand”.  In this workshop, young learners will be put to missions that allow them to go through processes of trying, making mistakes, learning, improving and finally achieving. They will explore their full potential by embedding these processes through personal and group activities, resulting in a positive personal development

Example Topics
  • Introduction to Mindsets
  • Transitioning from Fixed Mindset to Growth Mindset
  • Enhancing Growth Mindset
  • Helping others develop Growth Mindset
Key Learning Points
  1. Confidence can make us do things that we thought were impossible
  2. We should not label ourselves or let anyone label us with fixed tags like ‘smart/stupid’ because as humans we keep learning
  3. Mistakes and failures are good learning. Understanding this, your children are more resilient to failure and disappointment
  4. Your children will be ready to always receive changes  in their lives

Growth Mindset

The Growth Mindset concept is created by Dr. Carol Dweck, who is a professor at Stanford University. Those with a growth mindset believe that they can get smarter, more intelligent and more talented through putting in time and effort. The growth mindset workshop is one of the most popular workshops at YourNextU for adults, and it has been adapted to suit the young learners by YourNextU Young.
